LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION DISCLOSURE

What Students Need to Know About Professional Licensure

Many students attend college to earn a certificate and/or degree that prepares them for a specific field, such as professional nurse (RN), licensed practical nurse (LPN), or other regulated occupations. States and other government entities have established standards of practice for the occupations they regulate. These standards provide legal permission to practice those professions only to individuals who meet the established criteria, known as professional licensure.

Programs with Licensure Requirements

Larkin School of Nursing’s Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program requires licensure for employment as a registered nurse in the State of Florida. Information about the licensure requirements in the State can be found through the Florida Board of Nursing.

For students planning to apply for professional licensure or certification outside of Florida, please contact the licensing board in the relevant state to determine whether Larkin’s program meets that state’s requirements for licensure or certification.
